I love decorating for Halloween. I have always loved Halloween since I was a kid.
There were a ton of kids in my neighborhood when I was young! It was so thrilling to me to walk through the crunching leaves in my costume (which was totally different than today's costumes!) and get candy from the neighbors! When my kids were little, we lived on a street that had a lot of kids! I would hand out candy before taking our kids out trick-or-treating. When my kids were teens, we had moved to a neighborhood with just a few kids. So now that I could hand out candy all night, there weren't many! Then when our last son was still in the nest, we moved again. We lived there several years, so that was fun to get to see several trick-or-treaters come along each year. However, since this will be the first year in my apartment, and the neighborhood is full of kiddos...I get to hand out LOTS of candy to a BUNCH of kids...some of which will (for the first time) be some of my students! I can't wait to see all the cute trick-or-treaters tonight! I just hope Emmy doesn't try to dart out the door (yes, she will be in costume) to go with any of them! lol
Here she is checking out the candy that I bought...I think she approves.
And this is the poster I made in case I run out of candy. If you'd like this, I can email it to you since it is in PDF form.

I plan on enjoying this wonderful candy corn candle while waiting on trick-or-treaters tonight. It smells just like candy corn....Yummmm
Last weekend, my grangirl was here for our "Cinderella Weekend" (I'll post about that soon!) She played a little "trick" on me, insisting that the witch sitting on top of my grandfather clock did it. Hee Hee...Can you guess the "trick" that she....er,uh, um...that the witch pulled on my (by comparing these following two pics?
I love that little six-year-old...To the moon and back!!!!
Stay safe everyone! I'll be safe and sound in the cottage by 5...waiting to see all the little cuties!
Hope you have fun whatever you do! Happy Halloween!
I'm linking up to Beverly's Pink Saturday, so be sure to pay her a visit for lots of great "treats" for more posts!

Love your Halloween decorations! We don't have any trick or treaters in our neighborhood anymore. It's something that happened gradually over time until the last couple of years we haven't had one. I think people are opting for Halloween parties instead of trick-or-treating and, I have to admit, it is more safe.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by to see my pumpkins

ReplyDeleteSweet memories (I could have been loved to - ) and a funny holiday! Here in Germany Halloween hasn't tradition. In one year came two kids and since a few years nobody...it isn't such a great thing here. In my Childhood we haven't known the word.
ReplyDeleteNice decoration, most I like the candle with the witch.
