Dreams Really Do Come True

This past Friday night, I got to witness a Dream Come True for my oldest son....when he played on the stage at the Grand Ole Opry.  As a mom, I have to tell you, this was AMAZING to see!!!!  Both of my sons are incredibly talented musicians!  I know I'm probably biased, but the opportunities both of my boys have had is incredible!

Lauren Alaina was on the 10th (I think) season of American Idol.  My son is now her bass player.  They have traveled all over the U.S. and will be touring in England and Ireland this year....and with Alan Jackson!  If I could, I'd be following them all along the way!  But to see my baby boy on that stage....where so many incredibly wonderful singers and musicians have played...and to know that many incredibly talented singers and musicians never get that chance...my heart was bursting with pride!  God has truly blessed both of my boys with many opportunities!
This was my first time at the Opry, and it was a wonderful line up of amazing talent....my bestie went with me, and we had the time of our life seeing....Jeannie Seely, Aaron Tippin, Josh Turner, Diamond Rio, Jackie Lee, Dean Brody, Bill Anderson, Exile...and MY SON playing with Lauren Alaina!  Let me tell you, she knows how to work the crowd and bring the house down!  I kept thinking if I felt like I was floating on Cloud 9 in the audience, what must my son's girlfriend be feeling watching from backstage...and how surreal it must feel for my son!!??!!

Ok, so this proud momma just wanted to share this with you all!

I'm linking up to Pink Saturday.

Many Blessings from

  1. I envy you. I love country music and been to the Grand Ole Opera many times. I have seen just about all the older ones. They are so much better than the young generation. Yes, your son is definitely fortunate to be with a band and touring with such great stars. Enjoy it enough for me as well.

  2. How very exciting!! I know how proud you are and how fun it is to be on the "inside"! I went to the Grand ol Opry back before they moved and saw some wonderful entertainers. It was my mom's dream to go and we took her. She grew up listening to it on the radio. Congrats to your son for landing this gig and best wishes for a wonderful time touring!
