Memory Jar and Journal

I've seen these before, but finally decided that I was going to make a Memory Jar.  But since I love to write, and create journals, I took it a step farther and made a Memory Journal.

Let's take a look...

The jar will hold little notes about blessings/happenings throughout the year.  Then on New Year's Eve, I'm going to read them and see all of the blessings from 2016!  I'm really excited about this little jar and journal!

I started with gathering just things that I love!  You want to make it "yours" with things that appeal to you so that it won't seem like a chore to write it down.  I love writing, however, I do understand that not everyone does.  So making it with the things that you love, you are more apt to pick it up and write in it!

When gathering your items, pick lots of things that you love and think will work.  You may not use, probably won't, all that you chose, but you have a good variety to pick from.  The little red & white thing in the picture above is a tiny hand held journal.  It's like the ones that the kids use in school (composition book) but only smaller.  It's perfect...unless you plan on writing a lot!

Since this is the first year I will be single again, I wanted to focus on ME...I need to focus on who I am now...after thirty years with my ex-husband.  So I chose hearts because I want to love myself!  I also chose some sheet music pages because I love music, and I want to keep a song in my heart!  I also chose things in the colors I like, and some frilly crepe paper and lace!  I just used my glue gun to put them all together!

The end results...
The tag has a ribbon that will attach around the rim of the jar.  I just need to add "Memory Jar" to the tag, and maybe the numbers 2016 to my journal.  I  think they turned out pretty and very easy to make!  Now, just to add my memories/blessings as they happen in the new year!
I hope you have a wonderful 2016 with many blessings that they overflow your memory jar!
