Not So Fall

September is here...and I wish fall weather had accompanied it...but no such luck. Autumn has always been my very favorite season...the cool, crisp air, colorful leaves, apples, pumpkins, acorns...I get giddy just talking about it!  So, even though it's not so fall yet, I will pretend.  So, with that, I began to pull out my fall decorations.

The small dresser that my TV is sitting on is a new acquistion.  I love it as it is, but I'm probably going to eventually use some of my favorite paint (Blackberry Paint), sand and wax it, and shabby it up more in some of  my go-to colors.  I've added a few touches of fall, and I like the way it turned out!

Large orange and gold blooms fill a vintage watering can that I found at the Nashville Flea Market for $10 several years ago.  I just love the look!

How Does Your Garden Grow?

Since I've just moved into my new place, I haven't had time to devote to a garden....so I have chosen an easy alternative...but one that is most useful!
I chose to focus on a few herbs and some pepper plants this year, and I'm doing so with a "container garden".  I'm sorry to say my pepper plants (that I have always had great success with) aren't doing so well at producing.  The plants themselves are healthy and growing, but they just won't produce!  However, my herbs are really thriving, and I've enjoyed using them in some favorite dishes this summer!

Just Like Mayberry....Sort Of...

Thanks for joining me again on my trip through quaint little towns of Tennessee.
Today, I'm going to focus on a little town called Bell Buckle.
It has such qualities of a "Mayberry" type town that you think you'll see Barney Fife running across the road and into the drugstore!  LOL  And...I happen to be blessed by living just a short distance from this small, Middle Tennessee town.
You will be SURPRISED at what this little town has to offer!!!
Let's take a look!!!

Nothing Like Comfort Foods

There's nothing like  roast, potatoes, and carrots in the crockpot!  And what makes it even more special and yummy is great seasonings and fresh herbs from the garden!

All Moved In...

Ok, I said I wasn't going to do this...you know, the disappearing act...Ha!  But I did.  Eeeek!  Things got crazy busy in the spring getting ready for state testing...only to have it called off ( Yes!  I said CALLED OFF...as in NONE...which is a FIRST...and after all the time we put into computer skills so they could drag/drop, toggle between two articles, highlight, etc. because they were expected to do it on the computer, AND the program crashed every practice day!)
Then, all of my energy had to go into MOVING....not just my regular move of furniture in my classroom, at the end of the year, but MOVING homes again!  My year's lease was up on June 1, and I chose not to renew it.  The stairs in my townhouse were taking it's toll on my knees!  Also, my Emmy Rose needed a yard.  So the moving began again!  Now Emmy has a wonderful yard (which will soon be fenced) and I have a garage again...and a covered patio!

Just About Pretty Darn Perfect...

If you know me...then you would think of these words immediately...
Vintage
Jewelry
Peachy Pink and Aqua
Affordable
So when I saw this on my friend's Facebook page, and read more about it....I KNEW it was for me!  Now, let me tell you....I am NOT a salesman....by ANY means!  I feel like I'm putting people on the spot or putting them out or would bother them to even try to sell anything to anyone!
However, when I saw this line of jewelry...I "spoke" to me... I connected with it like nothing else...I KNEW I wanted to be a part of it...So....
I PM'd my friend and inquired....there was NO pressure, just HELP in answering my questions...NO asking if I would sell it...Just HELPFUL and INFORMATIVE.  I knew then that this was for me!
I can't even begin to tell you how excited I am about PLUNDER!  I'm almost giddy!  I just joined and can't wait until my kit arrives!  I posted on FB about my new venture, and within a couple of hours, I had so many people telling me how they loved the jewelry line, how interested they were in finding out about it, if they could order online, and could they book a party!  OMG....All I did was post that it was my new venture!
I'm telling ya....this jewelry sells itself!  It is vintage-y sweet and so affordable!
And when one piece has the same name as your grangirl....you take it as a sign that you MUST have it!  LOL
For me, It.Is.Perfect.  If you decide to take a peek and need any help, just ask.

I'm linking to PINK SATURDAY!

Chippy Shabby....and...A Dilemma!

While most women dream of expensive jewelry, designer clothes, tons of shoes...I dream of
RUSTY. CRUSTY.
CHIPPY.SHABBY.
If it has peeling paint....I'm overjoyed...
And if it happens to be white peeling paint....I'm ecstatic.

Dreams Really Do Come True

This past Friday night, I got to witness a Dream Come True for my oldest son....when he played on the stage at the Grand Ole Opry.  As a mom, I have to tell you, this was AMAZING to see!!!!  Both of my sons are incredibly talented musicians!  I know I'm probably biased, but the opportunities both of my boys have had is incredible!

More...More...AND Even MORE!

I LOVE decorating magazines!  I have some as far back as 1980's when I first married.  I still buy them today, but also acquire them from my BFF when she finishes with them.  So I guess it would be true that I'd run out of places to keep them....Well my old ones are still boxed up from my move to Chippy White Cottage, but my newest ones are always close by...Wanna see???

Arrival of the White Stuff

When I put away my Christmas decorations a few weeks ago, I decided to keep some little hints of winter up in the cottage.  I do love SNOW...and had hopes of a snow day or two.

Memory Jar and Journal

I've seen these before, but finally decided that I was going to make a Memory Jar.  But since I love to write, and create journals, I took it a step farther and made a Memory Journal.

Let's take a look...

Ring In The New Year

It's a new year...new beginnings...fresh start...clean slate...
Let's Celebrate!

For the first time, I was going to be alone for New Year's Eve.  Not that we ever did anything terribly exciting, but we always had a nice dinner, watched a movie or played games, watched "the ball" drop, and had a celebratory drink at midnight.  So this year, I decided I would not be alone, and  invited my bestie for a girl's night pajama party.  We watched all the Twilight movies (can you believe I had never seen any of them??) and ate!  I decided that I would make party hats for us ahead of time.  So, into my craft supplies I went...and this is what I came up with...
They were FUN to make and very easy!  So if you want to make your own for New Year's or birthday...here's how to do it...
