Easter Bonnet...With all the Frills upon it

I remember always getting a new dress for Easter...many times it was made by my mother, who was an awesome seamstress! I loved playing dress-up as a little girl!  I would always get my momma's and grandmother's old hats and purses for dress up and fashion shows.  I would dress up in outfit after outfit...gowns and hats, and carry the wonderful old hand-me-down purses.

I think that is one reason I collect vintage hats still today...well that and the fact that I adore vintage millinery flowers!

I remember my mom and my grandmother singing the song, Easter Parade...
  In your Easter bonnet
With all the frills upon it
You'll be the grandest lady
In the Easter Parade

I am NOT one to wear hats...of any kind...I don't think they suit me and I hate "hat hair"!  But I did wear this one (after I made it) to my great niece's "Run for the Cupcakes" Kentucky Derby birthday party.  I have to admit that I do like this hat, and I enjoyed wearing it for the day...but I don't think you will catch me in it again unless there is some sort of "hat theme" occasion again.
